This is an official 1972 Sugar Bowl Classic player's watch that was given to both teams before the Sugar Bowl game.  This VERY rare and highly collectible Hamilton automatic watch (no battery) has been appraised by a jeweler in Birmingham to be worth over $1,000.  

 

The watch is in nearly MINT condition with only a few faint scratches on the face (by magnifying glass only).  The gold watch band is in perfect condition and clasps correctly.  THE WATCH RUNS perfectly and keeps great time.  

 

The 1972 Sugar Bowl Game, a 1972-1973 American college football bowl game, was played on December 31, 1972.This 39th edition of the Sugar Bowl featured the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Oklahoma Sooners.Both teams came in with a 10-1 record. Penn State had a #5 AP ranking, whereas Oklahoma had a #2 AP ranking. It was played at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans.
